It's Chinese New Year! Not too overly hyped up because of various reasons.
1. YOU HAVE TO DRESS UP
2. You meet relatives you dont know /people your parents know but you dont know (so awkward)
3. the goodies and food are TOO HARD TO RESIST and lazy bumers like me dont go exercise the extra butter off so you gain weight
But, I mean I am Chinese and I like my race! Not that I don't like other races but I don't hate being Chinese and doing Chinese things ( since I love love chinese food I mean how can you resist chilli crab) so I'm quite ok with Chinese New Year. I like red quite a bit and all the ang ang stuff like ang pow and ang ku kueh .
Day 1 at Da Q's house! Look at Da Q looking all ah gongy and embracing it well like an old wise man
For the first day, after we visited Da Q's house, Yiyi, Jiejie and I went to Parkway to find some lunch and wanted to shop around. But well, since it was the first day of CNY almost 90% of the shops were closed D: We ate at Toast box, had some yummy curry chicken! Then went to Giant and bought this really soft floor mat that costs only $4! It's made in China and it's so cheap ( for that softness) so I doubt it'll be really that absorbent but WHO CARES. Came home to prepare for the feast for the night, well I rested while the rest prepared XP We enjoyed great fellowship together with Aunty Sandra and family, Uncle Felix and family, Aunty Susan and friend and Aunty Thanam and family. Had a great great deliciousssss dinner with different cuisines so not the usual just just Chinese food, had Rendang and some Vietnamese fried spring rolls!
Lou Hei!!!! Huat ah!
We went to aunty Mama's house to visit and had some good time chatting and playing with their big and fluffy hamster! It was sooooooo adorable, like look at it! I know that in the picture below you cant really see how cute he is but...ohgosh he was sooo cute. He lets humans he's not familiar with carry him and he is super active! All the hamsters I had previously died way too young and was the really nibbly sort.
After visiting Aunty Mama's house went to visit Mai Dua and Mai Ji's house to keep up with the traditions. They are really ahma ahmas ,like wear the top and bottom match match and hair permed , cute ahmas. I like (Y) Not to mention we had another scrumptious meal at Mai Ji's place cos she cooks really well!
Headed to sam Q's place to chill and relax after all that visitations and had yet ANOTHER good meal. That's why I say Chinese New Year is a season of gaining. Not only gaining in wealth ( for the unmarried ones) , but gaining in weight. Very prosperous.
MY FAV COUZIESSSS
the fun shot where only Jiejie and I tried doing something 'fun'
WOOHOO!!!! FAMILY PHOTO!
All in all, we had an enjoyable day today although there were quite some times where we had some tiffs and misunderstandings but, XIN NIAN must KUAI LE!!
